constants
m was talking to me about the concept of constants last weekend; and the word constant taken in the context of daily living and maturity. and the norm defines that most people; minus the individuals more solitary in persona; have a constant/constants. Because no man is an island. As the old saying goes. And these appear in several forms; family; friends; spirituality.
And when you depart for unfamiliar shores; the obvious initial response is to cling to familiarity; though the knowledge that one has to carve another niche for continuity and maturity's sake stays overhead. And no EBM-like studies or models exist, but it seems just from pure observation that those who have a trinity of constants; family and friends and spirituality; they seem to fare pretty well. Like theGun for instance. And maybe this is so due to the support one is able to receive from their constants; and part of growth and development and maturity involves restructuring our support bases; making new bonds; and having confidence in the foundations of our old ones. And in God. Because He is constant.
Of course; this is just a personal view of things. And things like nature and personality haven't been factored into the equation. And perhaps this is a first of not having a true-blue constant; of the likes of a/s in imu; or j/m in IB; or s/wc in SAS. Things never return to the good-ol-days per say; and thats different; but different doesn't have to mean bad. It just means different. You take heart in the experiences shared and the continuity ahead. One just has to ensure not being entrenched in nostalgia; because in doing so you neglect the present; and let positives and opportunities slip by as such. and regret. live with no regrets as the saying goes. no regrets.
And I've mentioned this before; but sometimes one has to be wary of maintaining one's own principles. Not get drawn into the ills of jealousy. or dislike. or intolerance. Especially when they are baseless. Slippery slope that.
ANW on an unrelated note I've so far nicked a bag of cleaning cloths; which has been put to good use when my mum's 'cleaning-genes' are activated. And a massive massive roll of toilet paper for the house. haha.
