I think I struggle reading through most autobiographical books; maybe its all the pampering given by fictional novels; and it becomes a chore to read autobiographies to their conclusions despite the worldly insights found in a majority of them; real world that is. The last one was the motorcycle diaries; and Che by Fidel Castro before that. But the appeal to Guevara (doc-cum-freedom-fighter-cum-revolutionary) are his ideals of a liberated people from repression and domination; and equality. That and gallantry, chivalry and adventure haha. Midway through the Long Road to Freedom; since August08 actually. I think I should be more accustomed to books without Pugs and Crakers and Istaris and John Proctors.

Came across some reviews for Mandelas book. One spoke of terminal introspection. Perhaps that progresses from stagnancy; be it from compulsion or necessity. Speaking of Mandela and Apartheid since Malaysia's been subtly(or blatantly in some perspective) practicing the system; home or.. home-away-from-home more like is going through a crucial period. Anwar's sodomy II trial and Perak's Menteri Besar wrangle. Both involve and depend on the integrity of the judiciary. And there seems to be a blanket ban of sorts in Brunei media regarding the 'Allah' religious issue in Malaysia. There is much much more tolerance in both the racial and religious sense in Brunei though. But you wonder; if Brunei wasn't the Shell-fare state or if oil and gas was limited to begin with; would it have taken Malaysia's pathway. Yep. I'm a confused Brunei kid at heart with Malaysian roots. Yeppp.

I'm starting to enjoy the 'studying' process again; and not just have it confined to tutorials and exams. Hopefully that sentiment's going to be prolonged. Thought it was going ok enough to move reading down to the large dining room table.

anw am on my general surgery block! had a good chat with AK in the hostel last week. and really pleasant blockmates. got to play with some surgical toys yesterday. Had some fun with this laparoscopic simulation thing with B. We made the word BIOPSY from letters interspersed in nooks and crannies on the model. and there's FUTSAL tm/today! so goodnight! maybe try that dundee hurricanes thing next weekend if I feel up for it.
