am on medicine for the elderly for 2 weeks; far from anything depressing or dreary really; on the contrary its been quite engaging. Got to play junior doc proper today; when the consultant wasn't joking when she said monday morning I'd be in charge wednesday; except in her time they dished out 40 pounds for medstudent wardwork. Will be preparing IV meds friday; and giving my first IV and subcutaneous injections. =D. Am looking forward to it very much. And the wards are filled with the nicest people and patients.
Am heading to Budapest pre-christmas. And running ho-ho-ho red this weekend. Stop and smell the roses they tell you. Some days; bad days especially; we keep our eyes averted from all that. Maintain a downtrodden gravel crunching gaze; perhaps jaded somewhat. The danger with such stagnancy is the gradual transition of that ill perspective into the norm. Then we're stuck. Foxholes however aren't meant to be permanent; just defensive measures. So look up.
Be Love. Choosing kindness over being right.
