Stillness
I have some thoughts.
True happiness stems from security. When security is snatched away from you, it produces hurt. And hurt, left to fester, breeds anger. Bitterness is a form of subdued and retired anger. With time, bitterness dissolves and a quiet sadness and vulnerability fills the then happy but now empty void.
These are the things of the heart.
The ability to make sensible conclusions. The capacity to make rational decisions. The courage to go through with the consequences of decisions made, and despite this, having the strength to move forward, to occupy yourself with other important things in life without harbouring any malice but only goodwill, and managing to control wayward, wayward emotions.
These are the things of the mind.
So it is that the lives of humans should ever be a battle between the heart and mind.
Personally I've always believed in listening to your heart, just doing so with your mind.
"..always, Tutu.."
