Good Morning =)
*psst* I'm back =). And my net has fiiiiiiinnnnnnnnaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyy arrived, the length of the 'finally' exaggerated for the continuous delay of the internet provider - "Nasioncom" to deliver the modem to my apartment. Service here is almost similar to Brunei, resulting from the fact that Malaysians, not just KL people, in general are L-A-Z-Y people, preferring to take it slow and steady, like some Bruneians haha. Then again, aren't we all pseudo-bruneians in some ways =P
Lazy people raise their hands pleaseee~
*merv raises hand diligently*
Two eventful months have passed since the last post. Since then, some of us, IB-ians and others included, have entered the next stage of adulthood in entering university and living independently. For the rest, you get the privilege of bumming for a few months more and reading about the pleasures and pains from those blogging about their university experience. Anyway, I realise that if I chronicle about everything significant that has happened to me since the start of IMU, this post would be excruciatingly long to read in its entirety so I shall blog about my orientation week, PBL sessions, IMU cup + cheerleading(yes.mervin joined cheerleading), and other random stuff bit by bit.
Everyone seems to have posted up pictures of their respective rooms in uni. Haha I'm lagging but.. I want to jump on the bandwagon too! Oh! and I'm turning 20 in 3 days time. *sob* 2-0. Maybe parts of my mind feel matured and 20, the other parts liken more to the rest of us guys - the boyish side. Haha, yes ladies, we remain boys at heart for quuiiiite long. Anyway enjoy =)
This is my little tech station. I feel quite tech savvy at the moment, new laptop with a remote for watching dvds, completely pointless but, haha looks cool, new wireless logitech mouse, and a pretty funky creative webcam. But technology goes defunct fast, so I'll savour the moment. Notice the big Mario mushroom on the wall above it =P a little souvenir i kept from variety night. I'll post up a decent video of it in the coming posts so stay tuned~
My wall of photos =). I thought that since I'll be inhabiting this room for quite some time, I'll personalise it and make it my own. Pictures of my life back in Brunei, IB people and you other monkeys who have coloured my life, and some new people i've met in IMU. Joy seems to pop up more in the photos. I wonder why. hehe.

And another souvenier from the Mario skit on variety night. Stuck it up on the wall in hopes that some seriously stoned/drunk guy would comply to the sign and stand there holding his bladder in, utterly bewildered. Haha =P just something to dot the empty space more like it.
My little collection of ties - quite pathetic i think. Its quite annoying how IMU insists that their students wear formal clothes to university at all times except after 6.30p.m. Its worse that they make students comply by making dresscode a part of regulation. The topic is quite sensitive as the SRC(Students Representative Council) is currently fighting the powers higher up to remove rule. Furthermore some more open-minded lecturers agree. The others are.. lol probably very asian-ized or malaysianized and have the "students must comply comply comply" mindset. So its buttoned shirt, formal pants and a tie for guys but its a bit more muddled for girls because girl clothes are a bit more complicated to adhere to some sorta system. Then again since some of us know the guards better as they're funny joking people, we get in some days using a T and slacks. I need to shop for more ties and shirts I think. lol can only match and mix that much. The blue one with blue and orange stripes is my fav cause i think it looks good and also its from Zara and Zara reminds me of something else =).
Oh and I have to wear this tag around my neck everyday. Differentiates us from the visitors coming to IMU. Pardon the queer looking smile on the ID hehe. I had to go to the IT department sick with fever that particular day to capture the photo. My thumbdrive's attached to the tag too so I can get the lecture powerpoints from the lecture hall computer after lectures are done. =P repetition of the word lecture in the previous.. alliteration! haha. call me geekboy just for that moment. And some badges that I bought for charity, one's about "IMU Cup 2006" and the other says "I love my patients". Oh and the ID card serves as a card for lending books from the library too. Not too much of a hassle to have it around so yeah.
These 2 pics are the velvet covering of my tendon hammer and the tip of the tendon hammer. The batch representatives were taking orders for tendon hammers even though we'll only be using it in semester 2 onwards and even then periodically but I placed an order anyway, better early than late, but for the time being its hanging on the wall peg next to my bed. Oh and I placed an order for my stethoscope too! Navy blue in colour. There were other colours available and I thought about the funky colours some of you guys would opt for. Joy: "RED! OR PURPLE! OR YELLOW!" =P or what mei, yuko, puss or peeks would get lol.
The view from my room. The condo isn't all that fancy but least the facilities are fairly alright. Swimming pool, badminton court, gym and clubhouse shop + laundromat available. The nice thing about living here is the fact that a lot of IMU students stay here so you can visit your friends when you want or meet up to have dinner some place. Something like campus for you guys in UK, minus the more cosy halls and dining rooms and cooked dinners. I'd take a photo of the cityview from my place as its quite beautiful especially at night but the haze is blocking the twin towers and the KLCC tower. Oh and uni is 2 mins walk away. I've woken up at 7.50 with lectures at 8 and still manage to get there on time. But malaysia runs on malaysian time. something like brunei time. you add 5 - 10 minutes to anything. lol. tsk tsk.
Me in my lab coat right before going off to the blood related practicals. I juuuust found out that my blood group is O+. Using a specially designed device for pricking and some chemicals. Tsk. The coat makes me look small and dwarfish and ugly. Not nice. haha. And I'm just in semester 1 so I don't really feel much like a doctor at all lol. Maybe when the clinical sessions unit (CSU) begin in semester 2 and so forth.
And these are the photos that I wake up to =). They make me smile and remember all the good times I've had.. and the good memories <3.>
there's no one here thats even remotely as wonderful as you.. I miss you. <3
